Miscarriages
I want to talk about something more serious today, miscarriages. Whether it is deemed a chemical pregnancy, missed miscarriage or just a miscarriage. This is something that many of you may have experienced at least once in your life or know someone who has. Men typically do not understand, especially when it is early on in the pregnancy, but it hurts us momma's none the less.
A Chemical pregnancy is when you loose the baby, often before you even know you were pregnant. This usually happens right before or right after your period was due. If you are not trying or testing early then you may not even know you were pregnant. You may have a heavier period then usual but other then that you may have no symptoms. This often occurs due to cell abnormalities. This type of miscarriage makes up 50-70% of all miscarriages.
A missed miscarriage is when you loose the baby but with no symptoms of a miscarriage. You do not start your period and often a Dr. may have to preform a D & C to clean your uterus out. Or some may choose to take herbs to try to clean them selves out. This often happens in the first trimester. But after a positive pregnancy test and usually after the first Dr./Midwife appointment.
Any other type of miscarriage is when you know you are pregnant and then you start cramping or bleeding unexpectedly, by this time baby has died and your body is trying to expel it. Any miscarriage after the 2nd trimester is deemed a stillborn.
Any healthy woman has a 15-20% of having some type of miscarriage, and if you have had a miscarriage in the past, your chances of having another goes up. As does age or surgeries in your reproductive area, or certain health issues. What does this mean? I suppose to some women, not a whole lot. Some women have healthy pregnancies and never have a miscarriage, or at least realize they have. But to those of us who have, that number and those odds a terrifying. With my first miscarriage I was told that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage, that's alot if you ask me.
The first time I had a missed miscarriage in 2004, I can honestly say that I grew in my relationship with The Lord. That was the first time I ever truly heard His voice loud in clear! I even had a vision of The Christ holding my baby, I knew at that point I had lost it, before I was told a definite yes. It hurt, I cried but I moved on. I did not question why so much, as I accepted it. I went on to get pregnant three months later with Gala. I had a subcronic hematoma with her (a small blood pocket behind the placenta) but that healed up and she was my first healthy home/water birth.
I had my tubes tied months after her birth. I then felt the Lord calling me to have that reversed. So I fasted and prayed and felt the number 8 weighing heavy on my heart. So we flew to N. Carolina and had the surgery. With a tubal reversal, I have a higher chance of having an ectopic pregnancy though. One moth later I was pregnant with Hadassah. She was born at home happy and healthy. I had two cycles (around Hadassahs 1st b-day) before I got pregnant with Syhven. She came with minimal speed bumps. Now, it has been a year and I finally started my period. Jamie and I are not sure if we want another little one quit just yet. So we bought an app for my phone called cycle beads, as we did not want to take any kind of hormonal contraceptives and certainly didn't want to have surgery to make it permanent.
However with one cycle I became pregnant anyway! I did not tell anyone, as I wasn't sure how hubby would feel for sure. And because of my previous miscarriage I am addicted to HPT's (home pregnancy tests. I tested every morning for over a week. That little pink line never got to much darker ( I know this isn't a true way to test) It did however leave me feeling uneasy. I told Jamie about it, and got in contact with my midwife. She had some blood work ordered, even though I was still getting faint positives.
Eleven days past my period being due my hpt was a big fat negative, and then that evening, I began to bleed. I was devastated to say the least. My children were upset and I am trying to stay strong in front of them. After all, I had been feeling uneasy this time around. I hadn't told people for that very reason. I have not cried as much as I did the first time, only because I have a pretty sour attitude about it for some reason. I just don't understand why. I mean I know the verse, The Lord giveth and The Lord taketh away. But why would the giver of life, bless someone with a baby only to take it away? My daughter said, when I go to heaven someday I will have children awaiting, so that I won't feel so bad, missing those still here on earth. A very sweet sentiment, but it still doesn't really make sense to me. I believe that the second that sperm unites with that egg it is a human being. So why? I suppose I will not know until I get up there, so for now, I will just have to move on no matter how hard it may be.
Why am I sharing this now, when these feelings are so raw? So that if any of you have been hurting in this way,or are hurting now, know you are not alone. If you ever need to talk then feel free to email me. I will be here for you. tiffany43050@gmail.com My husband doesn't fully understand, and while he tries to support me, he does not know how it feels. I think only those of us who have went through it truly understands.

Baby Babu Review/Giveaway
I am yet again impressed by a new diaper. The BABY babu is a newer diaper company. Founded by the parents of twin boys, living in Florida. AS many of us these days, they are trying to help the environment, while helping parents out as well with great deals on great diapers.
How cute is that for some Fluff! And the diaper is soft, inside and out.
If you look closely you'll see the openings in the front and the back. I love this. It allows for the inserts to be agitated out in the wash, so no pulling on wet inserts. Yet the back fits like a dream due to the elastic. and the elastic and extra gusset snaps keep any and all blowouts in the diaper where they should be. They come with 2 micro fiber inserts and are super absorbent.
(Hadassah-3 in Aug)
(Hadassah)
I am extremely happy with the fit. On both my girls. There are not to many diapers that I can happily wear comfortably on both girls.
(Syhven 1 yr)
(Syhven)
I would highly recommend BABY babuto anyone.
At the BABY babu website you will find such a variety of diapering from Diaper Covers to the Pocket Diapers to the inserts, microfiber and bamboo. They carry wet bags and let you buy in bulk. They also carry biodegradable, hypoallergenic, chemical free disposables as well. They are a one stop shop. I love it.
BABY babu has been so generous as to offer not only a 10% off coupon= TRYUS10 and an everyday free shipping on $50 and over, but also agreed to giveaway two free diapers to two of my lucky readers. I know you will love BABY babu as I do once you have tried their diapers.

Booty Buns Review
Booty Buns Cloth Diapers is another new diaper that is up and coming. I love the women behind Booty Buns just as much as I love the diaper. Shannon is big hearted and genurous woman. For every diaper you buy from Booty Buns Shannon also donates one to Operation Showers of Appreciation I just thnk that is so cool.
Booty Buns Diapers are extremely cute and very well made. They have a great trim fit. And fit both of my girls great! Neither have leaked nor had any messes.
Look at that rich deep royal booty purple, this is after two months of washing three times a week.
the inside is super soft. Check out the double elastic, not only does this protect from blow outs, but I also think it makes a better fit. Booty Buns also have the front and back openings, so that you don't have to touch any wet insert, it agitates the inserts (comes with 2) out in the wash.
I would reccomend giving Booty Buns a try.

I would like to share with all of you one of my newest favorite diapers.
Boogie Bear Creations I love her diapers for so many reasons. First look how cute my fluff mail arrived, I truly felt like I was unwrapping a gift.
Second there is the cute factor
The insert, which snaps on also has the cute print on the backside to match the diaper, yet just another adorable bonus.

I mean come on you can't get any cuter than that bum right there :-)
(Syhven 1 year)
She has so many different prints, for girls, boys and unisex. I know that shouldn't be the number one reason, but it's getting hot outside and my girl loves going naky, yes I said naky. So I love seeing the prints. But also, being a one size diaper-a must in this house having two in diapers still, look at how well it fits Hadassah who will be 3 on August 1st
and it still has another setting to grow one size larger! Now that is a bang for your buck. Look at how nice a Boogie Bear Creations diaper fits on both of my girls, it's Amazing! I love it. Also I love how soft the diapers are, inside and out. You would think it was more of a fitted, needing a cover at how soft and sweet this diaper is. However, She has PUL sewn in therefore it of course is completely waterproof. And when I saw waterproof I mean it, absorbent as well. Syhven fell asleep and had her Boogie Bear Creations diaper on for six hours, and she woke up happy, no wet or red skin, yet the diaper was soaked. Boogie Bear Creations, also customizes their insert soakers, which again is a great quality, as so many of us moms prefer different things in our fluff. One of my favorite things, is that she makes the diapers without micro fibers. She also had a messy poo while wearing it once, and all of that lovely mess, stayed put, right in the diaper thank goodness. The insert, which snaps on also has the cute print on the backside to match the diaper, yet just another adorable bonus.
See the cute insert flipped up. And the cute elastic stitching on the sides, makes me think of cute little ruffles, but I have six girls, so I look for ruffles.
Snapped up for size.
I love that Melissa is doing all of this herself. I mean Boogie Bear Creations really is all her. She sews these diapers, while also taking care of her family and working outside the home part time. Talk about an amazing woman! I have been using her diaper on a daily basis and I couldn't be happier.
And price wise, again I am impressed. You can either buy a custom diaper or inserts by themselves. She offers Free Shipping, which in this day and age who doesn't love anything free? I can't urge you enough to check out all Boogie Bear Creations has to offer.
You need to check out these diapers. They have to be some of the best!
I was given this diaper free of charge for a review, however, as always, my opinions are all my own.

Things I love for my babies
I remember when I was a new mom, and I thought I needed everything the retailers had to offer. I didn't of course have the moey, but I sure wanted it all. It all looks so inticing. I did without alot and that was ok. When my husband began making more money, I went through the same thing, of wanting. I know I shouldn't, but I did. They have so much to offer for little ones. So I thought maybe I could tell you what I thought was actually worth the money.
There are the obvious things like onsies and cloths and diapers (I prefer cloth-week in review coming up next) Do you prefer a bucket seat (infant carseat) or would you rather only buy one carseat-like the Alpha Omega
Personaly, if I hadn't recieved an infant carseat as a gift, I am not sure we would have one. They are nice, not having to get baby in and out in the cold, butnot an absolute have to with these types of seats, safe for as little as 5lbs. Diaper bags, oh I love bags, This has been my all time favorite though
A baby bath tub, I hate these things with a passion! After all of these kids I have just realized showering with babies are easier with a sling.
no this is not me, lol
The only draw back is that I have to have one of my girls come in and get her when we are done so that I can get dressed. I can remember thinking this was an insane option, but now that I have tried it, it's so much easier and convienent.
A carrier is a must! I like to start off with the Baby K'Tan and later move to the Boba 3G
So a stroller, not so much. I have to admit, I do own an umbrella stroller, which we bought at Disney because I forgot my carrier and a Graco Quattro Double stroller
but it pretty much just sits in my basement. So if you go to like the zoo or someplace like that alot totally worth it, but I prefer to wear my babies.
And a changing table is a must for me. It helps keep me organized and everything off the floor at hands reach. I love having a changing table. Recieving blankets are nice, but I don't personaly use them alot, maybe for spit of rags. My babies don't like to be wrapped or swaddled.
Due to the fact I nurse, bottles are not needed, but are replaced with nursing bra's and nursing pads. And even though I own sippy cups, oours tend to transition to "big kid" cups traight away. Binkies are bought and played with but never truely used. Amber teething necklaces (more on those in the future) are a Must!
We don't buy fancy little kid plates, but we do own some green sprouts spoons and real silver spoons and forks.
Of course we have had several high chairs over the years, but we tend to like the kind you strap to a chair
we have managed to do with out all of those playmats (I have had them, and realised they were a waste of money) we had had so many toys it is ridiculous. But it's not like they play a whole lot with toys. However I do love our jumperoo, and so do our children.
I miss having a walker and have considered purchasing one of those rather than having the jumperoo, but my husband would say "what do we need that for, don't we have something like that" Of course I would say "no we don't, this one moves, lol." We have a swing, but only with the first one and now 7th (fear one of them would hurt her in it) I think I started it to late because she didn't care for it. We have a bouncy to, but I didn't use t as often as it cost. But again, I prefer to hold my babies and with older children, babies rarely get sat down here. Bassinnets seem pointless. I mean if your going to use a crib, just start them off there in my opinion. We have a crib, one side is taken off and it is butted up against our bed, because within a couple of hours (if not sooner) she is in bed with us. We tried the Amby Hammock, I wasn't to impressed.
Of course once they are mobile you get into safety issues. We cover all plugs and have several safety gates. We did away with nic naks long ago. If a toddler can reach it better be safe. I do hope you have enjoyed this post. It is fun thinking about baby things :-) And just remember, just because it's new and all the rage, doesn't mean it's worth buying.

Open Your Eyes to Eating Disorders, They Are Far More Common Than You Know
We as homeschoolers think that we have a pretty good handle on what our children are exposed to. If we limit their exposure to certain things, then they are less likely to experience issues such as drugs, premarital sex and even eating disorders. Well I hate to tell all of you but if your children go to the supermarket with you then they are subjected to all of it. Maybe not so much drugs, but sex and images of young extremely thin provocatively dressed girls & women alike. Mostly from the magazines that you can't help but at least glance at while in the checkout line. Not to mention the larger then life Billboard ads or advertisements in stores. Even clothing itself seems to be more geared to thin girls. If you allow your children to watch T.V. (yes we do) then they are really in trouble. Everywhere we turn we are told, to be beautiful we must be thin.
The problem is with us mothers, or parents in general, we don't want our children to have a problem, esp. one taboo as an eating disorder. So we have a young girl, or boy, who feels they are a little over weight. Or even just trying to look like the girls on T.V. We may encourage them to exercise or skip desert, never starve themselves or make themselves sick. Only, all to often it can get out of control and when this young sweet tender child sees that whatever method of weight loss they are using, they can take it to far. And don't think the teen who has never lied in their life can't turn into a master. Now please do not think I am trying to say that we shouldn't encourage our children to be healthy. I know, at times we all should skip desert and we certainly all should exercise. However all in moderation. We as parents need to keep our eyes wide open and watch very carefully if our child is entering into a weight loss program. We should be monitoring their weight loss, and making sure they are doing so in a healthy manor, and not taking it to far. Regardless of how prideful we are, whether we want to admit it or not, our children can suffer from this extremely dangerous, yet easy to fall prey to Mental Disorder.
Here are some staggering statistics and I am sure that they are actually grossly under what the reality of how bad this problem truly is.
It is estimated that 8 million Americans have an eating disorder – seven million women and one million men
One in 200 American women suffers from anorexia
Two to three in 100 American women suffers from bulimia
Nearly half of all Americans personally know someone with an eating disorder (Note: One in five Americans suffers from mental illnesses.)
An estimated 10 – 15% of people with anorexia or bulimia are males
MORTALITY RATES
I don't know about you, but those numbers scare me. Please Mothers, Please Fathers, please do not think that eating disorders are something that won't come into your home, because its not. It can strike anywhere anytime and anyone. Please keep your eyes open, and don't be naive. Don't be afraid to snoop, to push and to be in your child's business, because if not, it may just cost you something you thought you weren't willing to loose.
other than the DMH statistics this is all my opinions. I am not trying to hurt anyone's feelings. I just know this has had personal repercussions in my life and those I love, I want and we all need to be more aware.

Here are some staggering statistics and I am sure that they are actually grossly under what the reality of how bad this problem truly is.
- Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness
- A study by the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders reported that 5 – 10% of anorexics die within 10 years after contracting the disease; 18-20% of anorexics will be dead after 20 years and only 30 – 40% ever fully recover
- The mortality rate associated with anorexia nervosa is 12 times higher than the death rate of ALL causes of death for females 15 – 24 years old.
- 20% of people suffering from anorexia will prematurely die from complications related to their eating disorder, including suicide and heart problems
- Only 1 in 10 people with eating disorders receive treatment
- About 80% of the girls/women who have accessed care for their eating disorders do not get the intensity of treatment they need to stay in recovery –they are often sent home weeks earlier than the recommended stay
- Treatment of an eating disorder in the US ranges from $500 per day to $2,000 per day. The average cost for a month of inpatient treatment is $30,000. It is estimated that individuals with eating disorders need anywhere from 3 – 6 months of inpatient care. Health insurance companies for several reasons do not typically cover the cost of treating eating disorders
- The cost of outpatient treatment, including therapy and medical monitoring, can extend to $100,000 or more
- Anorexia is the 3rd most common chronic illness among adolescents
- 95% of those who have eating disorders are between the ages of 12 and 25
- 50% of girls between the ages of 11 and 13 see themselves as overweight
- 80% of 13-year-old's have attempted to lose weight
- Rates of minorities with eating disorders are similar to those of white women
- 74% of American Indian girls reported dieting and purging with diet pills
- Essence magazine, in 1994, reported that 53.5% of their respondents, African-American females were at risk of an eating disorder
- Eating disorders are one of the most common psychological problems facing young women in Japan.

I Opened The Door to The World
I suddenly feel as if I have been under attack. Not only that but I have surrendered without even realizing it. I don't know when it started or how it has gone on so long without my realizing it but it has. Things have been changing and I have allowed it to be so.
The world was knocking on my door and not only did I answer, but somehow I invited it in! I don't mean on the T.V. or music. I mean into my mind and into my heart! She was a sweet temptress and I was prime for the tempting. I allowed the world to make me feel discontent with my life, with my children, with schooling, with everything. I can't believe I am saying this. My heart is supposed to be guarded against such things. I should know better. My focus was not fully on the Lord, but more on myself. Why does the evil one attack when we are in such a good place, why doesn't he just leave my home alone? What am I to do, things have taken on a life of their own, choices have been made that I suddenly am regretting. How do I get things back the way they were? How do I keep from such things from happening again? I was making such progress in other area's in my life and now this. Pray for me my friends, pray for me to get back the love the contentment, the peace.
As uncomfortable as it was to be honest, I feel better. I feel a relief. I said it, I got it. Now for the hard part, I move forward, and give my whole heart back to the Lord. Put my focus back on my worship and my family a little more than it has been lately.
Rockin Green Review & Giveaway
As you all know I am a huge cloth diaper advocate. I also am a mom who does not use Tide or any other detergent that is made from harmful chemicals or harsh ingredients. If I am going to use cloth diapers why in the world would I then use a yucky soap to wash her cloth diapers. The health benefits just wouldn't make much sense to risk with anything but a natural soap. I have used several kinds of natural detergents in my years of cloth diapering, until I found the ONE!
Rockin Green It is an eco-friendly cloth diaper safe laundry detergent. It works great for Cloth Diapers and your regular laundry both! I love Rockin Green I urge you to give this 2012 Readers Choice Winner About.com detergent a try, you will not be disappointed. It is dye free and has several different scents, all perfectly safe for you and your little ones bum. They even has a special formula for Hard water (a huge hit on cloth diapers) Ammonia Booster, even feminine cloth menstrual pad detergents. I am telling you Rockin Green has anything and everything you need to wash all of your laundry and at a GREAT price! You can't beat it!
Rockin Green has been very generous and offered one of my readers a 45/90 bag of your choice of their wonderful soap. How awesome is that. Thank you Rockin Green

Boba 3G Review and Giveaway
Let me start by saying I wanted a Boba for a very long time. I have been waiting, striving for my chance to get one. I set that for my goal, was to get a Boba Carrier. Why, I don't know because they looked absolutely adorable for starters. Plus I had heard wonderful things about the Boba from several different people. I have so many baby carriers, from a Ring Sling, To a couple of different wraps, I even have other soft structured carriers, so when I finally got my Boba 3G it had ALOT to live up to!
And did it, you may ask. It most certainly did! It lived up to my expectations and soared right on by. I Love my Boba 3G , It has to be my absolute favorite carrier! My only complaint is that I don't have 2, yet, that is. I need one in the car and in the house. Let me tell ya, it would be worth every penny spent to.
There are so many fantastic qualities on the Boba 3G From the small pocket on the front (love to keep my van key in, or a little bit of $ in) I love the fact that it zips, so that I am not concerned with anything slipping out. The waist band is extremely comfortable and easy to put on. Of course they have the cutest prints, I happen to choose the Kangaroo print, which I love. Oh and the hood, I love the fact it is tucked away into a zippered pocket. I don't want it hanging down covering the cute print, when not in use. Ok now for a biggy. Like I said I have other soft structured carriers, when I used them I actually had to have my older children buckle me in the back because no matter how I stretched I could not reach those darn buckles. The Boba 3G is so much better with this. I can buckle myself YAY! No twisting and stretching, I just can very easily, I love it.
Also, we live about an hour from any major retailers, so when I go to town I stay all day shopping. It was such a drag putting the carrier on, taking it off. With the Boba 3G I didn't have to, I just snapped the shoulders straps around my waist and got into the van and buckled my seat belt and went. So much easier, without all of the messing with it. There are also foot stirrups, you can snap on for your toddler to use. My daughter loves these. Yet another wonderful quality about the Boba 3G Although I did not need to use the carrier as an infant carrier, I love the fact I do not have to purchase anything to use my Boba 3G with my next baby, with just a quick flip inward of the waist strap. All and all I have to say I have not been happier with a carrier in my life. I can do everything from cook, to clean , from shop to hike or play outside even milk my goats wearing either our 2 1/2 or our 1 year old.
I just have to say Thank you Boba for making such an Awesome carrier!
Boba also carries the Boba wrap
(picture taken from Boba's website)
which is a wonderful carrier, especially for young ones. It's nice to have them so close. There are so many ways to carry your little one is a Boba wrap and its stretchy soft material is so soft and comfortable to wear for baby and momma. After all keeping baby close is so very important, especially in the beginning.
So either way, if you like to wrap your baby when they are tiny, or have more structure Boba has you covered. If you want to wrap your baby in the beginning then move to a structured carrier when they get a little bigger (which is what I have personally done in the past) Boba has you covered.
When it comes to the Safety, Comfort and Ease wearing my babies, The Boba Family is who I trust!
You can purchase a Boba 3G carrier for $120-$125
You can purchase a Boba Wrap for $48-$65

E.P.T. Home Pregnancy Test Review & Giveaway
With Mothers Day just around the corner, babies are on our minds. After al we wouldn't be moms if we hadn't had our babies! When most of us are trying to concieve we want to know if we are pregnant as soon as possible. E.P.T. lets us do that. You can test up to 5 days before you miss your period. Thats pretty imppressive if you ask me. Not to mention the fact that E.P.T. is over 99% accurate from the day your period is due. There is nothing more exciting then the moment you see either that + sign on the traditional tests or for the even more easy to read word PREGNANT on their super simple Digital test.
I personaly have depnded on E.P.T. more times then any other. Yes for the most obvious reason, suspecting I am pregnant-NO no news yet. But for other reasons as well. I nurse my babies and tend not to start cycling for almost a year. I like to test every month, just in case. I don't want to be one of those moms several months pregnant and just realizing it when I no longer fit in my pants. I enjoy being pregnant and I savor every moment of it, I want to know NOW.
I also had three of my wisdom teeth removed at the start of April. I had to be put to sleep and of course had to take pain meds. I depended on my Early Pregnancy Test E.P.T. to know that it was safe to have the surgery without fear of harming a baby, had I been pregnant. This was extrememly important to us because I am very careful when pregnant.
Also E.P.T. has a wonderful website where you can not only get tips on how to conciev but get an ovulation calculator and a due date calculater. You can print a coupon for $2.00 off your next E.P.T. tests Digital or Analog. They also have Registered Nurses you can call and talk to, which is above and beyond helpful. All and all hen I need to know whether or not we are going to be 8 Kids and Counting I go to E.P.T. and I know that I can trust the results!
(Analog E.P.T)
(very easy read, no mistaking these results)
(I love the grip on E.P.T.)
E.P.T. Has been gracious enough to award one of my readers a package of 2 count Analog E.P.T. I am hoping someone has great news to share with us soon.
